Benedict was born in Wehr, Baden on January 5,1848. When he was 3 years old he immigrated to the U.S.A. with his family.

Benedict married Catherine. We do not know Catherine's last name.. They had 3 children: Lizzie, Emma and Mary. These records were found from St. John's Church in Tremont.

Benedict died November 27, 1879 when he was just 30 years, 10 months, and 22 days old. He was killed in a mining accident in the East Franklin Coal Mine. This coal mine was located on the mountain that overlooked Donaldson. The listing is from a list of fatal accidents for Schuylkill and Luzerne Counties.

Census information:
In the 1860 and 1870 census Benedict is at home with his parents.

Lizzie census information:
In the 1920 census Lissie is married to Frank Troutman. They live in Minersville Ward 3, Schuykill, PA. They have 2 children: Arthur 23 and May 11.
In the 1930 census they are still in Minersville. Only Mae 22 is at home.

Records of Lizzie's Trefsger's marriage to Frank Toutman, and Thelma Mae Toutman's marriage to Walter C. Lash have been found. See the link to Family Marriages above.
