Helder was born on February 15, 1967 in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
He went to High School at MACE in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, class of 1982. His college was at the University of BrasÃlia - UnB, class of 1985 and Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais - UFMG, class of 1987. His graduate work was at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ, class of 2008.
Helder is the Maestro Titular of the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado do Espirito Santo.
He is married and has a daughter. Helder and his family live in Vitória, EspÃrito Santo, Brazil.

Helder found our web site about 'Trefzgers in North America'. In 2004 he e-mailed us telling us about his grandfather Franz who was born in Wehr, Baden and immigrated to Brazil in 1914.
